RADCOFLEX & the Chemical Industry

RADCOFLEX has a proud history of supplying the chemical industry with products used within in-plant and distribution activities. From humble beginnings nearly 60 years ago, we have grown into an international company, servicing customers in many parts of the world.

We have achieved this by being innovative and accepting and solving the many challenges we face with a positive ‘can do’ attitude. We also believe that product quality and service is paramount. We have been fortunate over the years to have a loyal, dedicated and experienced staff willing to work closely with our customers, helping them identify their system needs and supplying a product that provides cost effective solutions.

Flexible Metal Hoses

Used in the conveying of chemical products for general in-plant applications where higher temperatures and pressures are involved and/or corrosive or abrasive environments are present. Also widely used as an external protection for other PVC and rubber hoses that may be subject to impacts or abrasion.

RADCOFLEX manufactures a wide range of high quality stainless steel corrugated, wire braiding and stripwound metal hoses and assemblies in a bore size range from 6mm to 355mm. An extensive range of end connection fittings including flanges, threaded fittings, pipe and tube ends, and quick release couplings can be attached to the hoses to form custom made assemblies.

The hose and braid are generally manufactured in austenitic stainless steels, but the hoses are available in other high nickel alloys for the more severe corrosive applications.

Non Metallic Hose

Used in the conveying of chemical products in in-plant transfer, with road and rail tankers, and ship-to-shore bulk handling. Composite hoses provide a light-weight, more flexible hose alternative to rubber hose.

RADCOFLEX manufactures composite hoses in diameters up to 250mm from a range of materials such as polypropylene, polyester, polyamide and PTFE, reinforced with an inner wire helix of polypropylene coated steel and/or stainless steel depending upon the chemical to be conveyed and the atmosphere in which the hose is operating.

Our composite hose assemblies are fitted with a range of end connections including flanges, threaded ends, pipe ends and quick release camlocks in stainless steel, polypropylene and bronze, which can be swaged or wire whipped attached. The type of rubber for the swaging seal is selected depending upon the chemical and the temperature.

The CHEMDOCK ship to shore hoses are capable of 14 bars working pressure, are robust in construction and can be rope lagged for additional in-service protection.

Expansion Joints

Used primarily in-plant as part of the piping system for pumping and pipework movement solutions resulting generally from expansion, contraction, seismic movements, offset movements, vibration, heat and pressure stresses.

RADCOFLEX manufactures and supplies custom-engineered expansion joints in a range of metal, fabric, PTFE and rubber materials with a proven track record for providing a long service life, and reducing plant downtime and maintenance costs. These expansion joints can be fitted with movement control devices to assist with pipework reliability.

Our Metal Expansion Joints can be manufactured in circular or rectangular shapes fitted with flanges or pipe weld ends, in materials from austenitic stainless steels through to the high nickel alloys, with typical uses in high temperature and corrosive atmosphere applications where the pipework is subject to movement and pressure thrust forces.

Our CHEMSEAL Fabric Expansion Joints are manufactured from the latest fluoropolymer based heat sealable materials with typical uses in low pressure wet acid service conditions with a continuous temperature rating of 316°C, or higher on special applications. Our capabilities range from complete joint fabrications comprising of the fabric belt, flanges, liners, backing bars, fasteners and bolsters, to the supply of the fabric belt only for on-site splicing and fitting.

Our Rubber Expansion Joints can be supplied in a variety of chemical and heat resistant rubber compounds including nitrile, EPDM, Viton and Hypalon, fitted with flanges or pipe unions. We can supply in a variety of styles including spherical moulded style, and hand built joints in the wide arch, multiple high arch and filled arch styles.
