A single metal bellows element fitted with flanges or pipe weld ends, with hinge plates and pins to contain pressure thrust forces on a piping system in a single plane only.
Suitable for angular movement in a sinlge plane only controlled by the hinge.
Single hinged joints are generally used in pairs with connecting pipework between, to act in unison to absorb large amounts of lateral movement at high pressures with minimum guiding requirements and very low stresses on attached piping.
