When selecting a rubber hose, it is important to consider the materials to be used and the pressure capabilities the hose will need to withstand.
The end fittings and couplings for a rubber hose can be attached either by strapping, clamping or crimp swaging. The strapping and clamping methods are ideal for site-assembled hoses where a mechanical crimp swaging machine is not available. However, the workshop assembled crimp swage method provides a more consistent attachment with the added advantages of being less bulky. Clamping should only be used for lower pressure applications.
